Extracurricular work of the department

The Department of Medical and Psychological Disciplines operates from February 15, 2018. The precondition for its emergence was the creation of an educational and scientific institute of health care at the National University of Water Management and Environmental Sciences.
Nogas Angela Oleksandrivna, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor used to be Head of the Department. Since October 2020, Podoliaka Petro Serhiiovych, Candidate of Medicine, Associate Professor has become Acting Head of the Department.
The Department of MPD performs educational, methodical, scientific organizational activities and provides supply of professional qualification to bachelor level on a specialty "Physical therapy, occupational therapy". This is carried out by means of disciplines that were creatively worked out and are taught at the department with all responsibility.
Research project of the Department for 2019-2024 is called "Health recovery of different ages people by means of physical therapy and ergotherapy" (State number of registration is 0119U002877). Director of the project is Nogas Angela Alexandrivna, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor.
The teaching staff of the department has published about 120 scientific papers, more than 35 educational and methodical publications, 15 textbooks, including 3 recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine ones: textbook I.M. Grigus "First Aid", textbook I.M. Grigus "Physical rehabilitation in pulmonology", textbook by I.M. Grigus, V.О. Samorokova, V.I. Tsymbaliuk, O.V. Tsymbaliuk "Forensic Medicine and Forensic Medical Examinations", textbook I.M. Grigus "Alternative means for health care and recovery" and others.
Teachers of the department take an active part in all-Ukrainian and international scientific conferences dedicated to the training of specialists in area of health care and physical therapy.
Scientific exchange and internship of scientific and pedagogical employees of the department includes the following High Schools: Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after I. Bobersky , Zaporizhia National University, Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, Kherson State University, Polissya State University (Pinsk, Belarus), as well as the Vincent Paul Higher School of Social Sciences (Lublin, Poland), Jerzy Sniedecki Academy of Physical Education and Sports (Gdansk, Poland), Casimir the Great University (Bydgoszcz, Poland), UNI-TERRA Higher School (Poznan, Poland).

Students have the opportunity to practice and improve their professional skills in medical and preventive institutions as well as in rehabilitation centers in Rivne and Rivne region. The agreements for the cooperation have been signed. The department has two students’ research groups: "Physiotherapy in the rehabilitation process of different nosological clusters" and "Alternative means for health care and recovery " As a result of research work, students prepare speeches for presentation at scientific conferences. They take part in online conferences, in round tables, in scientific, practical seminars with various topics under scientific direction of Acting Head of the Department, Associate Professor Podoliaka P.S., Associate Professor Nogas A.O., Associate Professor Smolska L.M., senior teacher Andrejeva O.B.
